The Foreign Ministry (Kemlu), in conjunction with the Indonesian embassy in Yangon, are investigating two videos showing Indonesian citizens who claimed to have been held captive and tortured in a place believed to be Hpa Lu in Myawaddy, a town in southeastern Myanmar, in Kayin State, close to the border with Thailand. The remote town is reportedly under the control of rebel forces.

MPR restores Sukarno’s reputation
The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) revoked the Provisional People's Consultative Assembly (TAP MPRS) Number XXXIII/1967 on Sukarno's involvement in the 1965 tragedy, accusing him of treason.
