Jakarta, IO – The Indonesian State Tap Water Company (Perpamsi) said that the hosting of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) in Bali is a momentum for Indonesia to improve its water infrastructure.

Perpamsi executive director Subekti said that Indonesia’s water infrastructure still leaves much to be desired. If this is not addressed quickly, it could hamper Indonesia’s ambition to become a developed country by 2045.

“This is a momentum for Indonesia to pursue improvements in governance, development strategies, and so on, especially in the tap water sector, both piped drinking water and sanitation,” said Subekti, per CNBC Indonesia, Thu (25/4).

Perpamsi welcomed Indonesia’s hosting of WWF because water issues are currently an important agenda for the world, especially since Indonesia itself is still struggling to improve its water management.
