Jakarta, IO – For the first time in history, the Indonesian U-23 men’s football team managed to get into the quarter-final of the biennial AFC Asian Cup. They secured the runner-up position in Group A after beating Australia 1-0 and won against Jordan 4-1.
Indonesia’s next rival is South Korea, which tops the Group B. Their last clash took place at the 2007 Asian Cup which Indonesia hosted. Indonesia was defeated 0-1.
Indonesian coach Shin Tae-yong, himself a Korean, revealed that he had prepared special strategies against his home country.

“To be honest, I prefer to play Japan than South Korea,” said Shin.
The match is scheduled to take place at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium, Doha, on April 26 at 12.30am WIB. (rr)
