Govt to disburse Rp4.3tn in April to build Nusantara

Jakarta, IO – Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati said the government has started disbursing Rp4.3 trillion funds for the development of the Indonesian administrative capital Nusantara since April 1. This accounted for 10.9 percent of the total ceiling allocation of Rp39.6 trillion for 2024, per CNN Indonesia, Fri (26/4).

Sri explained that the total budget allocated for IKN development from 2022 to 2024 amounted to Rp72.1 trillion. Allocations for 2022 and 2023 were Rp5.5 trillion and Rp27 trillion, respectively. 

“Rp2.3 trillion or 6.4 percent has been used to build the infrastructure cluster, namely the State Palace, ministry and agency offices, as well as the office of IKN Authority (OIKN), apartments for civil servants and defense and security personnel, ministers’ landed residences and other vital infrastructure, such as toll road, bridge, hospital, airport and reservoirs,” said Sri.

Rp2 trillion (65.5 percent of the total allocation of Rp3.1 trillion) of the budget is also used for non-infrastructure cluster. These include planning, coordination, preparation for relocation, promotion and awareness raising or information dissemination. The budget is also used for reports and policy recommendations to ministries/agencies, mapping activities, evaluation monitoring and operations. (rr)
