Prabowo-Gibran Officially Declared Presidential Election Winner by KPU pointed by KPU

Jakarta, IO – Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Gibran Rakabuming Raka have been formalized as the 2024 presidential election victor by Indonesia Electoral Commission (KPU) on Wednesday (24/4) following the Constitutional Court (MK) ruling on election result dispute.

KPU chairman Hasyim Asy’ari in the plenary session read out the minutes which declared the presidential candidate pair No 2 as president- and vice president-elect for the 2024-2029 term. The pair secured 96,214,691 votes or 58.59 percent of total legitimate ballots cast and took 36 out of a total of 38 provinces in Indonesia.

As per Article 4 of KPU Regulation 6/2024, the formal declaration must be carried out no later than three days after MK decision.

Prabowo and Gibran head to KPU office together from Prabowo’s private residence on Kertanegara IV Street. They arrived around 9.15am WIB. To the media awaiting their arrival, Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment that he and Gibran will work hard in the best interests of all Indonesian people.

“What is important now is for the political leaders to work together as this is what the people has demanded,” said Prabowo.
