Jakarta, IO – Giovana Elisa Millana Day has arrived in Indonesia. She landed at Soekarno Hatta Cengkareng Airport, Sunday afternoon April 14. Gia, as she is called, will join the Jakarta Pertamina Enduro team in the 2024 Proliga volleyball competition.
Gia is a friend of Indonesian volleyball star, Megawati Hangestri Pertiwi when they both played for the Daejeon JungKwanJang Red Sparks team in the 2023-2024 Korean Volleyball League and managed to reach the semifinals. Her closeness to Mega to some extent influenced Gia’s decision to accept Jakarta Pertamina Enduro’s proposal.
“Mega told me many things about Proliga. She always talked about how wonderful the family atmosphere was. “I think I want to experience a league with a family atmosphere with Indonesian culture that is extraordinary and fun and gives a lot of energy,” said Gia.
“I am happy that Pertamina Enduro gave me the opportunity, even though there is actually an important family event that I have to prepare for, my sister is getting married in June,” she said.
In Proliga, Gia will not be on the same team as Megawati. Megawati joins the Jakarta STIN BIN team. “We trained together in Korea, I smashed Mega doing blocks. He smashed my block. We already understand each other. “It’s very interesting to play against her as as an opponent,”.
After playing in the Proliga, Gia has confirmed that she will compete in the United States Volleyball League. “My big goal in volleyball is to win every championship and joint with the United States national team,” he stressed.

Pertamina Jakarta Chef de Mission, Werry Prayogi, said that Gia was chosen not only for technical considerations. “We want players with good technique and a good attitude. When communicating with her, Gia fits these criteria,” he said. Moreover, Gia also has quite a lot of fans in Indonesia. Jakarta Pertamina also presented a men’s team with the banner Jakarta Pertamina Pertamax.
“We once had good foreign players, but lacked the personal behavior that ultimately affected them. “Volleyball is not only about individual ability but more about team chemistry,” said Werry.
