Indonesian Singer Debuts with Korean Girl Group VVUP

Jakarta, IO – Another Indonesian singer, Kimberley “Kim” Fransa, 17, has again made waves in the K-Pop music scene with girl group VVUP. She followed the footsteps of Dita, 27, who debuted with girl group Secret Number in 2020, and Zayyan with boy group Xodiac in 2023.

The announcement was made by her agency EgoENT, per Republika, Fri (5/4). She and three other members, namely Hyunny (South Korea), Paan Mekmok (Thailand), and Suyeon (South Korea) marked their debut by releasing the song “Locked On” on April 1.

Before then, VVUP released a pre-debut single titled “Doom Doom Chit” on March 13. Kim was born in Jakarta on June 3, 2006. Since she was five, she has shown passion in the world of singing. She continued to hone her talents and qualified as a participant in The Voice Kids Indonesia 2017 when she was 11 years old which propelled her to stardom.

Before her debut with VVIP, the fan of Korean singer IU released a single titled “Shine”, featuring ELS and Willy Winarko. (un)
