Indonesia becomes the second Asian country to participate in Reina Hispanoamerican

Jakarta, IO – Dunia Mega Bintang Foundation (YDMB) announced that it will send a beauty queen to represent Indonesia at an international beauty pageant Reina Hispanoamericana.

The foundation was founded by designer Ivan Gunawan. This is Indonesia’s first participation in the prestigious event. Indonesia will send one of the Top 5 Miss Mega Bintang Indonesia 2023, reported IDN Times, Friday (14/4).

Reina Hispanoamericana is a beauty pageant based in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, which aims to celebrate Hispanic heritage, language and culture. The contest which has been held since 1991 and redesignated Reina Sudamericana (South American Queen) in 2007.

From 1991 to 2003 it was only attended by 10 countries from the South American region, namely Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Paraguay, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela and Argentina. It was not until 2004 that it included more countries from different continents.

Until 2017, the Philippines was the first Asian country to send its beauty queens in the contest. (un)
