Jakarta, IO – Following the success of their Latin American tour, RADWIMPS, the renowned Japanese rock band, proudly announces that Toaka will once again join them as the main guest star in their upcoming Asia tour, the RADWIMPS World Tour 2024, “The Way You Yawn and the Outcry of Peace.” The concert series kicked off in Chengdu on April 21, including the RADWIMPS concert in Jakarta on May 19, 2024, at the Beach City International Stadium Jakarta.
RADWIMPS teamed with Kazuma Jinnouchi, a highlyregarded film music composer, to create the perfect soundtrack and musical score for award-winning director Makoto Shinkai’s latest film, “Suzume.” Toaka, who is very popular online, made a huge breakthrough when she was given the opportunity to audition as a guest vocalist for a song written by RADWIMPS for the film. She was successful in landing the role, delivering a performance that highlighted her skilled and highpitched voice in the film’s lead song.
Toaka joined the music industry when the 21-year-old creator originally gained fame on TikTok with renditions of other songs, followed by her original songs, which led to a major label debut and her contribution to “Suzume.” Toaka recently published her first mini album, “Boku Dakeno Ai,” under Universal Music Worldwide, which showcases her artistic taste and personality. Her debut song collection shows her eclectic approach to music, with “Discorddisco” as her fast-paced creation that expresses Toaka’s passionate side, while “Cinder ella,” has a dance beat speed. Meanwhile, “Boku dakega Ai” describes Toaka’s simpler background, highlighting the dynamics of her voice. The lyrics strike a balance between being young and dark.

RADWIMPS, a Japanese band with four members, formed in 2001 and made their debut on a major record label in 2005. They quickly gained a large fan base, primarily the younger generation. The band has so far released nine studio albums. They contributed to Shinkai’s record-breaking animated flicks, “Your Name.” and “Weathering with You,” earning them the Japanese Academy’s Best Original Score. RADWIMPS recently partnered with Kazuma Jinnouchi, a highly acclaimed film music composer, to create the perfect soundtrack and musical score for award-winning director Makoto Shinkai’s latest film, “Suzume,” which grossed more than $300 million worldwide. RADWIMPS and Kazuma Jinnouchi’s soundtrack won the “Best Music” award at the 46th Japan Academy Awards.
The band started their tour in 2023 with sold out tickets in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia. The LATAM tour began in March to answer the longings of their fans. Now, they are on the “The Way You Yawn and the Outcry of Peace” tour. (des/ast)
