As an uninhabited island, Menjangan does not have accommodations, restaurants, shops and other amenities. This island is only a stopover for snorkeling and diving. Therefore, lodging is only available on the nearest islands around the West Bali National Park (TNBB), or in Pemuteran.

“We stopped by first because it was still crowded,” said Restu. After spending a while at the gazebo, we went back to the boat. The boat sailed a little further toward the sea, amid the view of the rocky outcrops. And, it is true what many people say, live coral, fish of various types and colors under the sea are breathtaking.

Restu explained that the coral reefs on Menjangan Island are still pristine. Marine biota is also still well preserved. Indeed, my colleagues and I did not find any trash when snorkeling there. Since the start of the trip, the tour guide also warned not to throw any trash into the sea.

“You just put the garbage on the ship, we will pick it up,” he said. For those who are intrepid and good at swimming, you can take off your life jacket and dive deeper under the sea to see the coral and small troughs more up close.

“I was amazed when I saw an underwater cliff. It was all black, you can’t see the bottom. It looks like an abyss,” said a visitor named Tari. (Aini Tartinia)
