A total of 13 world leaders have congratulated Prabowo for his election victory

Jakarta, IO – As of today, Wednesday (21/2), presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto has received congratulations from 13 state leaders. Prabowo-Gibran pair is leading the quick count and ongoing real count by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

The most recent one came from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi who on Sunday (18/1) wrote on X: “Congratulations to the people of Indonesia on the successful Presidential elections and @prabowo on the lead. Look forward to working with the new Presidency to further strengthen Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between India and Indonesia.”

Philippine President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. also sent his kind words. “I look forward to deepening PH’s bilateral ties with Indonesia, a close neighbour and partner in ASEAN, most especially as we celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations this year,” he said.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was the first leader to congratulate Indonesia and Prabowo. “I was honoured to be the first foreign leader to speak today with @prabowo, who has a clear lead in official and unofficial counts, about my ambition for the future of Australia-Indonesia relations.”

After Albanese, congratulations were also conveyed by Singapore PM Lee Hsien Loong, Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim, British PM Rishi Sunak, Chinese President Xi Jinping through the Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Lu Kang, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Dutch PM Mark Rutte, Czech Republic PM Petr Fiala, Turkish Grand National Assembly member Ayşe Böhürler, East Timor President José Ramos Horta, Nicaragua President and Vice President Daniel Ortega Saavedra dan Rosario Murillo, former Thailand PM Thaksin Shinawatra, former British PM Tony Blair, Australian Deputy PM Richard Marles and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
