Jakarta, IO – Indonesia is scheduled to host the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) which will be held on May 18-25 in Bali.
A number of anticipatory measures have been made, particularly on security aspect. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) is one of the bodies tasked with securing the high-profile event.
“We will carry out security starting from the pre-, during and post-event stage,” said BNPT deputy for prevention, protection and deradicalization Maj. Gen. Roedy Widodo, per Sindonews, Mon (22/4).
He detailed a number of steps that BNPT would take, including assessing the security system at the location and inviting public to participate in making this international agenda a success.
“We will also hold intelligence coordination meetings, intelligence training for regional intelligence officers tasked with securing WWF,” he added.

Separately, National Police chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo hopes that these measures will allow the international agenda to run smoothly.
“We are striving to ensure that through responsive and preventive efforts no [terror] attacks will happen,” said Listyo. (un)
