KPU National Recapitulation: Prabowo-Gibran Wins in 24 Provinces

Jakarta, IO – Presidential pair No 2, Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, got the most votes in 24 provinces based on the national votes recap by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

Plenary meeting to count the votes was held at KPU office in Menteng, Central Jakarta, Thursday (14/3). The KPU will continue to carry out national level recapitulation until the final deadline on March 20, per CNBC Indonesia, Fri (15/3).

Prabowo-Gibran so far won in 24 of the 25 provinces. Support for the pair nominated by the Onward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) is overwhelming in various regions in Java, Sumatra and Kalimantan.

One of the significant wins is in East Java province where Prabowo-Gibran received almost 17 million votes, far ahead of the other two contenders, Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud, who only got around 4 million votes.

Meanwhile, in Kalimantan, support for Prabowo-Gibran is most dominant in Central Kalimantan where they secured a million votes compared to their rivals who only garnered around 200,000 votes.

In Sumatra, Prabowo-Gibran won by a large margin in Lampung with 3.5 million votes, while pairs No 1 and 3 only received 700,000 votes.

Prabowo-Gibran also won significantly in West Papua with 172,965 votes, compared to 37,495 for Anies-Muhaimin and 120,565 for Ganjar-Mahfud.

However, Anies-Muhaimin narrowly won over Prabowo-Gibran in the province of West Sumatra by around 500,000 votes (1.7 million versus 1.2 million votes). Ganjar-Mahfud was lagging behind with 124,000. (un)
