Garuda Shield is an annual joint exercise between the TNI and the US Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM). This exercise is designed to strengthen the interoperability, capability, mutual trust and cooperation that have been built over time. This year, the exercise will be held with a larger scope and scale, hence the moniker Super Garuda Shield.

According to an official statement from the United States Embassy in Indonesia, military personnel from other countries such as Australia, Japan, and Singapore will also participate in the exercise to be held from August 1-14 in three locations, namely Baturaja, Amborawang, and Batam Island.
