Batam, IDM – The 2022 Super Garuda Shield (SGS) joint exercise between Indonesian and the US is unlike the previous edition. For the first time, approximately 35 US MEU SOC (Marines Expeditionary Unit-Special Operations Capable) personnel participated.

“This exercise is a good opportunity for the Indonesian Armed Forces and the United States to enhance the cooperation and relationships that have existed so far,” said Sgt Andrew King, 31st MEU COMMSTRAT (Marines Expeditionary Unit-Communication Strategy and Operations) to Obseverid.com on Monday (1/8).

Andrews hopes that through the joint exercise, the navies of the two countries can share experiences, tactics, and techniques in a more cohesive manner.
