Jakarta, IO – The Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) recently stated the criteria for presidential candidates the party will nominate in the 2024 presidential election. They would support candidates with nationalist-religious character and is likely to win the election.
Sudut Demokrasi Riset dan Analysis (SUDRA) executive director Fadhli Harahab claimed the figure PKS referred to is Prabowo Subianto. The defense minister, he said, fits the criteria.
“So far, the most potential figure is Prabowo Subianto, who is ready to run, if PKS is interested in joining the Gerindra-PKB coalition,” said Fadhli, as reported by Sindonews, Thursday (18/7).

While pointing out that all the figures with high electability in polls have a nationalist-religious character, Fadhli is of the view that PKS will support a figure whom it considers having an ideological proximity with the party. According to him, there will be further synchronization between the opinions of the party elites with grassroot cadres.
“PKS sees the ideological proximity as a political party with an Islamic orientation and voter base with the candidate it will support,” he said. “Otherwise, there will be divisions within PKS and of course it will affect the number of votes it will get.” (un)
