With regard to PDI-P’s presidential candidate, the former Jakarta deputy governor said the decision is still pending the party’s chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri. “Gerindra’s decision is their prerogative but for PDI-P we are waiting for the chairwoman’s decision,” he explained.
He also confirmed that PDI-P would continue to cooperate with other parties. According to him, Megawati has given a mandate to Puan Maharani to establish cross-party communication.

“To build cooperation, of course, we must cooperate with all elements of the nation and Mbak Puan has been assigned for this,” said Djarot.
