Jakarta, IO – Gerindra’s South Sulawesi branch chief Andi Iwan Darmawan Aras said the party’s cadres in the province have introduced Prabowo Subianto as 2024 presidential candidate to the grassroots community.
“All Gerindra cadres in South Sulawesi continue introduce Prabowo to the grassroots community. A total of 24 Gerindra sub-branches in the regencies/municipalities have held coordination meeting to declare Prabowo Subianto as the 2024 presidential candidate,” Andi told Fajar on Friday (1/7).
He continued that the party has also established machinery at polling booth level in all regencies and municipalities in line with the resolution of province-wide coordination meeting in October last year, attended by all cadres across South Sulawesi who unanimously appealed to Prabowo Subianto to be willing to join the presidential race.
“Gerindra South Sulawesi is looking for the right time and location to officially declare Prabowo’s candidacy for the 2024 presidential election,” he divulged.
In the 2019 election, Prabowo-Sandi won 2,809,393 votes (57%) in South Sulawesi, ahead of Jokowi-Ma’ruf with 2,117,591 votes (43%). (rr)
