Gov’t provides special housing and scholarship for families of sunken KRI Nanggala 402 crew

Jakarta, IO – A year after KRI Nanggala 402 sunk in the waters north of Bali on April 24, 2021, the government through Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto provided 53 special housing units (rusus) for the families of the sailors.

The houses are built in Candi, Sidoarjo, East Java in collaboration between a number of parties, including the Defense Ministry, the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL), the Sidoarjo local government, and the Sidoarjo office of National Land Agency (BPN). Prabowo explained the housing consists of four types and will soon be ready to move in.

“The special housing units are equipped with various public facilities, including lighting and road access,” said Prabowo on Thursday (21/4).
