After visiting every room in the museum, at the end of the visit, visitors will be invited to make their own kite, from assembling, decorating and colouring depending on the age level with the materials and tools that have been provided by the museum.

The Kite Museum was founded by Endang Ernawati, a true kite enthusiast. She built the museum on her own land. It was inaugurated on March 21, 2003 by then Culture and Tourism Minister I Gede Ardika.

“Mrs. Endang diligently collects kites from various parts of the places she visited. She also cooperates with various parties to organize a kite festival. Kites from the festival are sometimes donated to this museum. There are approximately 600 collections in this museum,” explained Asep.
