Turkey, Syria hit by another powerful earthquake

Jakarta, IO – A powerful earthquake measuring 6.4 magnitude rocked Turkey and Syria again on Monday (20/2).

Three people were reported killed, reported Merdeka, Tuesday (21/2). The epicenter was in the southeastern Turkey, near the border with Syria, where the mega 7.8 magnitude quake struck on February 6, killing 44,000 people in Turkey and Syria and left tens of thousands of others homeless.

A number of Indonesian citizens were also impacted. Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi revealed that at least four Indonesians have died, two of them a mother and her child. The Indonesian survivors are being taken care of by the Indonesian Embassy in Ankara. Their families in Indonesia have been informed.

Indonesia sent another batch of aid to Turkey and Syria on Tuesday (21/2) on top of tens of tons of relief goods provided earlier. (un)
