Jakarta, IO – The Democratic Party welcomes the nickname “Father of Peace” given to Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), the 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia, for his contribution in resolving conflicts though special autonomy (otsus) approach.
“SBY succeeded in ending conflicts between the state and pro-independence groups through the implementation of special autonomy offered as a compromise solution,” said Kamhar Lakumani, the Democratic Party’s division of elections (Bappilu) deputy chairman on Tuesday (19/4).

He said the title was very appropriate given SBY’s track record and achievements when he led the country during his first administration.
