Bawono believes that other parties tend to wait to see if PDI-P will eventually form a coalition with Gerindra Party and nominate Prabowo Subianto-Puan Maharani, according to recent rumour.
“Other parties are also waiting to see if in the end PDI-P does not nominate Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate. Because, as the daughter of the PDI-P chairwoman, Puan Maharani is considered to have a greater opportunity to be nominated,” he said.
However, this becomes complicated given Puan Maharani’s electability is only around 1% far behind Ganjar Pranowo’s 20%. Thus, Bawono believes that PDI-P’s final decision will determine the manoeuvre of other parties in coalition-forming to nominate their candidates.
