Jakarta, IO – Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko assures that the cabinet remain solid in response to widely circulating rumour that 15 ministers are going to tender their resignation as the elections are just weeks away.
“In the cabinet meeting, everyone was all smile, there was no awkward conversation, no unusual vibe,” said Moeldoko, per CNN Indonesia, Friday (19/1).
Moeldoko said the presidential election dynamics do not affect the cabinet performance. In fact, he suspected that the rumour spread by economist Faisal Basri’s claim was deliberately designed to disrupt and destabilize the government.

Among the scores of ministers rumoured to resign are Finance Minister Sri Mulyani and Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Minister Basuki Hadimuljono.
