Jakarta, IO – Presidential Palace confirmed that the simultaneous General Election (GE) 2024 will be held according to schedule in response to the Central Jakarta District Court decision which ordered the General Elections Commission (KPU) to stop the process.

Deputy V of Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Jaleswari Pramodhawardani stated that President Joko Widodo is committed and has expressed his support on several occasions for GE2024 to be held according to the constitution and the timeline set by the KPU, reported Bisnis Indonesia.

Jaleswari also ensured that the government would continue to support and facilitate the timely holding of elections and entrust the whole process to KPU.

He appealed to the public to remain calm in light of the court’s ruling and to continue to support the KPU. “Don’t be provoked by information or maneuver that caused a stir. Trust the KPU to take the best steps,” he said.
