Jakarta, IO – Dutch-Indonesian footballer Nathan Tjoe-A-On has officially become an Indonesian citizen after taking the oath at the Jakarta Regional Office of the Law and Human Rights Ministry, per Tribunnews, Mon (11/3).

Nathan was born in Rotterdam on December 22, 2001. His maternal grandfather was from Semarang, Central Java. He is currently on loan at Swansea City.

The news was also confirmed by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) via the Kita Garuda website.

“He was supposed to take oath of citizenship together with Jay Idzes. However, Nathan was only able to do it last night because the 22-year-old footballer was busy and had agenda that he must attend,” wrote PSSI.

After officially becoming an Indonesian citizen, Nathan now just has to wait for the administrative process of transferring from the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) to PSSI. If all goes according to plan, he can play for the Indonesian national team against Vietnam in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification.
