Mospix win Bronze Award at 2021 WYIE Competition

Purwokerto, IO – The “Mospix” team, consisting of six students from the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), Purwokerto, Central Java, have won a Bronze Award at The World Young Inventors Exhibition (WYIE) Competition 2021 held by the Malaysia Invention and Design Society, in collaboration with the Indonesian Invention and Innovation Promotion Association. In this competition, Puspita Cahyaningrum, Aulia Annai Nashida, Eva Pramudea Safitri, and Taufan Muhammad Faqih Taufik from the Industrial Engineering Department, together with Nur Muhammad Taufik and Muhammad Fikra Adzaky from the Electrical Engineering Department, proposed the
innovation titled “Modern Smart Pill Box (Mospix)”.

WYIE is a world-class competition that promotes student innovation, creativity, and creativity among young inventors, and has run since 2017. WYIE is part of the International Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exhibition (ITEX). This innovation exhibition vehicle on the international stage has the theme “Encourage young minds to explore their creative and critical thinking skills through innovative inventions”.

Advisory Lecturer Azis Wisnu Widhi Nugraha, ST, M.Eng said that this competition was participated in by 11 countries, including Indonesia, China, Taiwan, Turkey, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Thailand. All stages have been carried out from abstract collection and announcement of selection in August, to the writing papers in October 2021.

“The competition stage begins with the announcement of abstract approval in August, followed by the registration and paper writing stages, until October 2021. The peak of the WYIE 2021 competition activity will be an online live judge presentation on December 13-14, centered at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), Malaysia,” said the lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Unsoed, as quoted by Unsoed.ac.id, Wednesday (5/1/2021).


Another supervisor, Rani Aulia Imran, ST, MT, from Industrial Engineering, added that the team consists of a collaboration of Industrial Engineering and Electrical Engineering students. Thanks to the collaboration and support from the Unsoed Faculty of Engineering, and the team’s hard work, students were able to win the Bronze Award in this competition. “This achievement is the result of the cooperation and collaboration of the team. They can defend their work, entitled ‘Modern Smart Pill Box’ (Mospix) innovation in front of the Board of Examiners,” she said.

Team leader Puspita said that “Mospix” is a medicine box product that is connected to an application on a smartphone. This product is specially designed to integrate with the internet of things concept in components through a quality function deployment method. “Mospix is specially designed for patients suffering from serious illnesses, to seek guidance through an application. This device is used to signal treatment schedule reminders and display patient discipline reports in taking medication, to the closest person or related health workers,” she concluded. (est)
