Jakarta, IO – Coordinating Human Development and Culture Minister Muhadjir Effendy signals that the Enforcement of Public Activities Restrictions (PPKM), the government’s Covid-19 containment measure, could soon be discontinued if the spread of the corona virus is under control.
“There is a high likelihood [of it being lifted]. If it is under control, why should we continue with PPKM?” Muhadjir said, as reported by Kompas, Friday (20/5).

However, he did not specify the timeline. In general, he hopes that the policy can be ended as soon as possible. Muhadjir said that currently Indonesia had entered the transitory phase towards the endemic phase of the pandemic. The first step is to allow the public to not wear masks outdoor.
