Jakarta, IO – The government extended the Enforcement of Public Activities Restrictions (PPKM) until May 23, even though Covid-19 cases have been on the wane.
University of Indonesia epidemiologist Pandu Riono said the antibody levels in Indonesian society against Sars CoV-2 had begun to increase. Therefore, the government should be able to relax the restrictions.

“This may be the last extension of PPKM. I advise the government to discontinue the PPKM policy and ease the restrictions on community activities,” said Pandu, as reported by Tempo on Monday (17/5).
However, other measures such as mask wearing and booster shots still need to be maintained because they have proven to be effective.
