Prabowo’s close relationship with Gus Dur is not something new to the public. Several years ago, Gus Dur even called Prabowo the sincerest person in building the country.
“The sincerest person to the Indonesian people is Prabowo. Yes, there are many [things] that show how sincere he is to the Indonesian people,” said Gus Dur during a program broadcast by TVOne.
Not only that, Gus Dur also once said that Prabowo would become president at an old age. This is also confirmed by KH Irfan Yusuf Hasyim, one of the grandchildren of NU founder KH Hasyim Asyari.
“I am quoting Gus Dur. He once said Pak Prabowo will become president at an old age. God willing, in 2024,” said Gus Irfan. (un)
