Jakarta, IO – Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana has been named a suspect by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) over allegation of corruption, bribery and receiving gratification in connection with procurement of CCTVs and internet service providers for the ‘Bandung Smart City’ project of the 2022-23 budget, reported Suara, Monday (17/4).
KPK deputy chairman Nurul Ghufron said Yana was arrested along with five other people, namely Bandung Transport Agency head Dadang Darmawan, Bandung transport agency secretary Khairul Rijal, PT Sarana Mitra Adiguna (SMA) director Benny, PT SMA manager Andreas Guntoro, and PT Citra Jelajah Informatika (CIFO) CEO Sony Setiadi.
Gufron revealed that the case started when Bandung City Government launched the Bandung Smart City program in 2018. When Yana was elected Mayor of Bandung in 2022, he was involved in the procurement of CCTVs and appointment of internet service providers (ISP).
In August 2022, Yana was approached by other suspects to ask for contract on the CCTV procurement project at Bandung Transport and Communication and Information Services agencies. In December 2022, Yana was given a sum of money to appoint PT CIFO as the ISP for Bandung Transport Agency.
In return for the bribery, CIFO was declared the winner of the project worth Rp2.5 billion. In addition, around January this year, Yana and her family, Dadang and Khairul allegedly received a trip to Thailand using PT SMA’s budget.

They were arrested by KPK in a sting operation on Friday (14/4). KPK seized evidence in the form of cash in Rupiah, Singapore dollars, US dollars, Ringgit, Yen and Bath, as well as Louis Vuitton Cruise Charlie Sneaker shoes worth around Rp924.6 million.
For the purpose of investigation, the suspects will be detained for the next 20 days from April 15 to May 4 at the KPK detention center. (un)
