At precisely 8 p.m. ‘Dewa 19 – A Night at The Orchestra Episode 2’ began and played “Cinta Mati 3” by Ahmad Dhani. Nisaku sang the song wonderfully, echoed by hundreds of audience members in the hall.
Reza Artamevia, a famous female vocalist, performed beautifully in her white dress and dazzling headpiece. The most feminine piece of clothing worn in her 25 years of music performance, she said. Reza sang 7 songs of Dewa 19’s hits, “Aku Wanita”, “Satu yang Tak Bisa Lepas”, and “Cintakan Membawamu”. A duet with Ahmad Dhani in “Biar Menjadi Kenangan” was warmly welcomed by the audience, concluded by “Keabadian” and “Pertama”. Reza was hypnotizing the audience with her dense, heavy-timbre voice.
Ahmad Dhani gave his speech right after Reza’s performance with Bintang Lima, “Mukadimah” orchestrated tune played softly as the background to his address. He revealed that the concert involved nearly 80 of the country’s famous singers, musicians and choir singers. “We are very thrilled to hold this musical performance. We have 54 orchestra musicians and 20 choir singers helping us prove how serious we are in music,” said Dhani.
Dewa started their performance with the iconic “Roman Picisan”, sung by Once Mekel. The audience instantly recognized the song and sang along. Ari Lasso appeared with “Tangis Terakhir,” his first song with Dewa 19. Ari stepped down from the band after 23 years as the band’s leading vocalist.
