Jakarta, IO – As many as 19 ex-terror convicts in Central Sulawesi pledged allegiance to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). The pledge was made at the Central Sulawesi Governor’s Office in Palu city, Wednesday (17/8).
Central Sulawesi Police spokesperson chief commissioner Didik Supranoto said the 19 ex-convicts were former members of the East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT) group who had participated in a deradicalization program. They hail from Palu city, Poso regency and Sigi, Antara reported.
Police hoped the pledge of allegiance can inspire those who are still exposed to radical ideas to return to the embrace of NKRI.
“It’s never too late and let’s together build and bring progress to Central Sulawesi,” said Didik.
