TNI detains 6 people in North Kalimantan suspected of being foreign spies

Jakarta, IO – The Indonesian Navy from the Ambalat XXVIII Maritime Task Force arrested six people suspected of being foreign spies after they secretly taking pictures of military assets in North Sebatik, Nunukan regency, North Kalimantan, Wednesday (20/7).

They consisted of three Indonesian citizens with the initials EW (23), TR (40), and YY (40) and three foreign nationals with the initials LS (40), HK (40), and BJ (45). ).

“We found secretly-captured photos of military guard posts, border markers, port in the cross-border post (PLBN) in their cellphone gallery,” said Commander of the Sei Pancang Post, Lieutenant Victor Aji Hersanto, as reported by Kompas, Friday (22/7).

He explained that the chronology of the arrests began with the examination of people, documents and goods at the Sei Pancang Post conducted by the Marine Corps chief Moch Arif. A black Toyota Avanza was stopped for inspection.

Seeing the presence of foreigners in the car, Corporal Second Class Moch Arif directed the passengers and driver to get off, and further inspection was carried out at the post.
