TNI detains 6 people in North Kalimantan suspected of being foreign spies

“From this inspection, we learned that these people had taken photos of the military guard post which is a TNI asset,” explained Hersanto.

The incident was then reported to the commander of the Ambalat XXVIII Task Force, Captain Andreas Parsaulian Manalu. It then coordinated and contacted the Navy’s Frog Command (Kopaska), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), and the TNI’s Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais), as well as the Joint Intelligence Unit (SGI), intelligence division of Military Command (Kodim) 0911, East Sebatik Police Department, and Immigration.

Captain Andreas Parsaulian Manalu stated that the perpetrators can charged with Law 19/2016 on Electronic Information and Transactions (ITE).

“We have handed over the six people to Sebatik immigration officers to be processed at Nunukan immigration office,” explained Andreas. (rr)
