Jakarta, IO – Former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Jusuf Kalla (JK), Sultan Hamengkubuwono X of Yogyakarta, and former Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Yusron Ihza Mahendra received honorary awards from Japan.
The awards were presented directly by Emperor of Japan Naruhito at the Imperial Palace on Tuesday (10/5).

According to official statement from the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo, JK was conferred the highest award The Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun for his contribution in improving the relations between Japan and Indonesia when he was the vice president.
