Jakarta, IO – Saudi Arabia will send its contestant Rumy Alqahtani, a 27-year-old professional model, to the 73rd Miss Universe. This is the country’s first ever participation in the international beauty pageant. This year it will be held in Mexico on September 24, per Kompas, Wed (27/3).
“I am honored to participate in the Miss Universe International 2024 pageant. This is Saudi Arabia’s first participation in the Miss Universe pageant,” wrote Rumy in an Instagram post via @rumy_alqahtani on Monday (25/3).
Rumy, who was born in Riyadh, is no stranger to beauty pageants. She has participated in at least eight beauty competitions across the world.

Recently, she participated in the Miss & Mrs Global Asian 2024. Previously, she also took part in Miss Saudi Arabia, Miss Planet International in Cambodia, Miss Woman International in Rome, Miss Arab World Peace in Egypt, Miss Arab Unity in Algeria, and Miss Middle East and North Africa in Iraq.
