Jakarta, IO – The four airports are Mutiara SIS Al-Jufri Airport and Banggai Laut Airport in Central Sulawesi Province, and Taman Bung Karno Airport and Bolaang Mongondow Airport in North Sulawesi.

The reconstruction was carried out because several parts of the airports were damaged by an earthquake in the city of Palu several years ago. This has seriously hampered the flow of aid logistics for earthquake victims, per Dephub.go.id, Wed (27/3).

“We know that the damage to Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport is really serious. At that time the runway and the terminal were damaged. So we carried out rehabilitation and reconstruction, including three other airports in Central Sulawesi and North Sulawesi,” said Jokowi.

Mutiara Sis Al-Jufri Airport now has a runway measuring 2,510m in length and 45m in width which can be landed by narrow body aircraft. Meanwhile, Banggai Laut Airport has a runway measuring 1,200m in length and 30m in width and can be landed by ATR-72. The passenger terminal area is 1,400 sqm and can accommodate up to 39,000 passengers per year.
