Jakarta, IO – A photo of six female students carrying air soft guns and wearing bulletproof vests in an Islamic boarding school in Magetan regency, East Java, during a school orientation program has gone viral on social media.
Magetan Police chief Muhammad Ridwan said the photo was taken at Baitul Quran Islamic boarding school, per detikJatim, Monday (31/7).
The activity to introduce the school to the new students took place from July 10-15 July and involved one of the event organizers.

When it first circulated, the photo shocked Indonesian social media wary of radicalization. The police said they have conducted an investigation. It was learned that the students were from grades 7 and 10. (rr)
