Jakarta, IO – Meranti Islands regent Muhammad Ali expressed his dissatisfaction with Finance Ministry which he accused as unfair in disbursing the revenue sharing funds (DBH) for the oil-rich regency.

Ali said his region produces nearly 8,000 barrels of oil per day and argued that Meranti Islands should get more, not less.

“If our oil revenue keeps declining, I hope the director general can issue a letter to stop oil drilling in Meranti. Don’t take more oil from Meranti, it’s okay, we can still eat, rather than our money sucked up by the central government,” said Adil, reported Tirto, Monday (12/12).

He admitted that he had repeatedly asked for an explanation from the Finance Ministry to no avail. Agus said that he has even sent a letter to Finance Minister Sri Mulyani but the ministry asked to have an online discussion with him.

Not satisfied with this response, Adil even went to Bandung in the hope that he could meet Sri Mulyani face-to-face at an event but Sri Mulyani did not attend and was represented by her staff. “I even came to the point of asking is the finance ministry staffed by demons?” he blasted.
