Jakarta, IO – Visitors flock to a photo exhibition and archives of Bung Hatta’s legacy at Bung Hatta’s grave in Tanah Kusir Cemetery, Jakarta, Thursday (14/3).

The exhibition, which will take place from March 14-17 is being held to commemorate the independence declarator’s 44th anniversary, as well as introducing the youths to the figure of Bung Hatta more intimately.

There are 30 photos or replica archives on display, such as photos during his speech, photos with his children and wife, photos in his study and photos when Bung Hata was performing the Hajj with his wife in 1952. Archives of Bung Hatta’s writings and small notes was also on display.

Of the several photos on display, there are two photos that are usually placed on Bung Hatta’s work desk, one of which is a photo of Bung Hatta with his wife and three daughters. According to Bung Hatta’s daughter, Meutia, the photo was taken when they were visiting a close relative who lives in Bandung.

In the exhibition, visitors will receive explaination by the committee about the purpose of the photos and archives displayed. Not only that, visitors can also pray and scatter flowers directly at the grave of Bung Hatta, who hailed from West Sumatra.
