Separately, chairman of House Committee X Syaiful Huda appreciated President Jokowi’s decision. According to him, there are other policy measures to preserve the temple other than increasing ticket prices, as proposed by Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut B Panjaitan recently.
Huda hopes Borobudur Temple stakeholders can immediately sit down together to formulate the management policy of the premier tourist destination. He said Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry, Education, Culture, Research and Technology Ministry, Borobudur, Prambanan, and Boko Temple Tourism Parks authority and the Central Java provincial administration need to meet immediately to ensure the commercial aspect of tourism remains in line with the concept of preserving one of the world’s wonders.
