Jakarta, IO – In front of 197 G20 international delegates, the Indonesian government introduced the Federated Public Trust Directory initiative to facilitate the verification of Covid-19 vaccine certificates at entry gates worldwide.

“Our hope is this initiative can be implemented at arrival gates of every country to make it easier to verify Covid-19 vaccine certificates, so that international travel will be safer and more convenient,” said Setiaji, the Health Ministry’s chief of technology and Digital Transformation Office (DTO), as reported by Antara, Friday (22/9).

He explained that the Federated Public Trust Directory is a global framework that unifies digital infrastructure to verify authentic documents across a trusted global network.

So far, G20 countries are still using different systems according to each country’s policy. Thus, in the event of a pandemic, the movement of people and goods around the world was disrupted.
