Jakarta, IO – Their repatriation was carried out using a special plane that departed from Hang Nadim International Airport, Batam, Riau Islands, per Tempo, Thursday (21/9).
Riau Islands Police Chief Insp. Gen. Tabana Bangun explained that they were arrested in an operation that was conducted from August to September.
“The first was on August 29 in Cammo industrial estate where 90 perpetrators were arrested and the second on September 5 in Belakang Padang where 42 were nabbed,” said Tabana.
They were detained in two different locations, Batam City and Singkawang, West Kalimantan. The repatriation will be carried out in two stages where they will be handed over to the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).
With this handover, the perpetrators and the evidence that has been confiscated will be given to the Chinese authorities so they can face the legal process in China. (un)
