Bogor, IO – Gerindra Party chairman-cum-Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto officially launched a soccer tournament dubbed Nusantara Open Prabowo Subianto Cup 2022 at Nusantara Polo Club (NPC) field, Ciriung, Cibinong, Bogor regency, Saturday (16/7).
“This tournament is held to find young talents who in time can bring fame to Indonesia to the global sports scene,” Prabowo said.
According to him, the advancement of sports, especially soccer, is a barometer of the advancement of a country.
“Soccer offers essential life lessons, victory is not due to individuals, one or two people but a team of eleven people, there are players, coaches, physicians,” Prabowo added.
As many as sixteen teams from the best football academies across Indonesia will compete in the tournament, which will take place from July 16-31.
