Govt issues EUA for indigenous Covid-19 vaccine

Jakarta, IO – The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) issued an emergency use authorization (EUA) for indigenously-produced Covid-19 vaccine Indovac, jointly developed by state-owned pharmaceutical holding company PT Bio Farma in collaboration with Baylor College of Medicine, US.

BPOM chief Penny K. Lukito in a press statement on Saturday (1/10) said the vaccine contains active recombinant Receptor Binding Domain (RBD) of the SARS-Cov-2 virus spike protein.

BPOM also issued EUA for mRNA Covid-19 vaccine AWcorna registered by PT Etana Biotechnologies Indonesia (PT Etana) and developed by Abogen-Yuxi Walvax, China.
