“We are sure fans everywhere will love this lovable character. La’eeb will play an important role as we engage fans young and old alike in the FIFA World Cup Qatar experience,” said Khalid Ali Al Mawlawi, Deputy Director General, Marketing, Communications and Tournament Experience, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.

Meanwhile, the logo looks like a white cloth with a red pattern that forms the number eight. It has a combination of the colors burgundy and white which are identical to colors to the national flag of Qatar.

The shape of the logo is meant to realize the vision of an event that connects and involves the whole world. The logo features striking local and regional Arabic cultural elements and references the beautiful game.

The indentation represents a desert hill. While the unbroken circle that forms the figure eight represents the eight stadiums where the matches will be played. The logo also has an infinite shape which means it reflects the interconnected nature of the event, blending tradition and modernity. (rr)
