Jakarta, IO – The Gerindra Party will officially nominate Ahmad Riza Patria as a candidate for Jakarta gubernatorial election in 2024. Gerindra’s Jakarta executive board chief Syarif said Riza Patria has got the nod from Gerindra chairman Prabowo Subianto.
“It just needs to be formalized, but internally it has been approved,” said Syarif, reported Merdeka on Wednesday (9/11).
Syarif said that Riza Patria was chosen because the former deputy governor of Jakarta is deemed experienced. He also holds a number of positions in several organizations. He also used to be a leader of university paramilitary group (Menwa). “Riza is also very disciplined. So, yes, he is the right candidate,” he said.

Syarif also revealed that the party is still looking for Riza Patria’s running mate. (un)
