Jakarta, IO – Gerindra Party central executive board (DPP) chairman Sufmi Dasco Ahmad reminded Gerindra Party cadres to understand political ethics concerning the presidential candidacy in the upcoming election in 2024.
This was conveyed by Dasco in response to the statement by one of Gerindra cadres, Sandiaga Uno, who now serves as the tourism and creative economy minister, that he is ready to be nominated as a presidential candidate.
“We cannot forbid someone from running. They have every right to do that, but there are also rules and ethics that must be considered,” said Dasco, as reported by Antara, Friday (2/9).
He explained that contesting in the presidential election is a right granted to every citizen and protected by the constitution as long as they meet the requirements according to the Election Law.
