Komnas HAM finds indication of alleged sexual assault in Magelang

Jakarta, IO – The National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) revealed the latest findings from the investigation related to the murder of Police Brigadier Yoshua Hutabarat (Brigadier J). Komnas HAM commissioner Beka Ulung Hapsara mentioned about alleged sexual assault that occurred in Magelang, Central Java.

“Based on factual findings, it was reported that there was an extrajudicial killing that stemmed from alleged sexual violence (in Magelang),” said Beka, as reported by CNN Indonesia, Friday (2/9).

Beka said that the murder could not be explained in detail, because there were many obstacles, namely various obstruction of justice efforts.

However, on Thursday (1/9), Komnas HAM submitted a report and recommendation on the results of monitoring and investigation of Brigadier J’s murder to the police. The aspect of the loss of life or the right to life is one of the allegations of human rights violations mentioned.
